The principles of the Party
Citizenship and wise governance.
The Constitution Party believes that Egyptians are all citizens, and they are before the State, its institutions and its laws, equal in rights and duties.
The system of government of the State must be based on respect of the citizenship principle, the proactive political participation of the citizens, the rule of the law, the respect for the rights of individuals and groups, the accountability of public authority. The choosing of its leaders in free and periodic elections, constant evaluation of the public institutions performance, transparency in the management of state resources and other effective principles to ensure wise governance.
The State’s role in economic development.
The Party believes that the role of the State is indispensable to spur economic development and align it with public interest, and that does not oppose at all with the market economy that is based on competition. On the contrary, a booming economy and improving the ability of the economic operators to compete requires an active and intelligent role by the State, on both domestic and foreign fronts.
The State plays both legislative and executive roles setting rules and regulations that govern economic activity; from investment and taxes and monetary policy and promoting exports to labor laws and social security. The State also has a key role in infrastructure planning and its provision, in education and training, as well as supervising the natural resources of the country and organizing the rights to exploit it. Additionally, fighting corruption and monopoly and other important roles of the State that affect its economic life directly or indirectly.
The State’s responsibility for social justice.
The State is responsible for social justice, starting with creation and enforcement of legislation that prevents corruption, exploitation, monopoly and manipulation. Setting a fair tax policy, and enforcing the social solidarity, emphasizing equal opportunities and creating equitable opportunities for the less fortunate, enabling the most vulnerable social groups and supporting free education to create fair opportunities for the poorer segments to progress and improve their conditions. Role of the state includes combating discrimination, and ending with provision of shelter and social protection to all so as to provide the basic needs of the citizenry: food, clothing, clean water, shelter, health, education and cultural services.
Peaceful Political Activism.
The party believes in peaceful political activism in all its form, whether by participating actively in the political life in dialogue with individuals and other groups or by voting in different kinds of elections and running for public office positions or through demonstrations, strikes and all forms of peaceful protest.
The party, also, regards peaceful political activism as a principal that must be respected not only for its efficacy and superiority over other forms, but also as a dignified moral principle that shall not be violated as a guarantor of social peace.
Self-reliance, Preservation of identity and openness to the world.
The Party regards the principle of self-reliance as the main stepping stone for public activism. Indeed the success of individuals, groups and people to achieve their goals depends on it. Self-reliance includes the ability to develop a positive vision of what an individual or a group wants to attain, and a realistic planning to move towards this goal. This principle is essential for the success of the Party and those who believe in its vision towards achievement of said goal. It is also a fundamental pillar for the success of the entire nation in achieving its collective goals, within the country or within foreign relations.
This principle also includes the preservation of the identity which unifies the nation, and openness to the world we live in so as to become an active part of it, and protect our rights and our dignity, and fix the imbalances of the global system without antagonism nor risking dependency.
